Wildfires, Rattlesnakes, & We are sleeping where?

This is back from August 24, 2018. We left Idaho early in the morning and headed for Salt Lake City to get the fridge in the RV fixed. From there, we headed west across Utah and southwest through Nevada. We were out of bear country, but the restroom door at the Rest area warned of rattlesnakes. We also saw a sign warning of no gas for the next 168 miles. We put this in perspective for the kids. Imagine no gas stations between Albay and New York City. We did see smoke from wildfires in the mountains to the west and spots were the desert looked like it was white as s now fir mile after mile.

That night we wound up sleeping at a rest area with a spot for RVs. It was 6 miles out of town and when we stopped, we were the only ones there. The oldest three of us were a little freaked out.
